As the primary home for Watermelon Wednesdays, the West Whately Chapel plays hosts to most of our shows.
West Whately Chapel, built in the Queen Anne style in 1896, is nestled into the rolling hills of the village of West Whately. This quiet district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, has a long history of both agriculture and industry—upwards of 16 mill complexes were once in operation along the various brooks that traverse the land.
The chapel itself is known for its incredible acoustics and intimate setting. It is maintained primarily by residents of West Whately but owned by the Whately Congregational Church, who still use the building for worship services in the summer months. We are ever grateful for their generosity in providing the space for our concert series.
